Analytics: we use Google Analytics to understand page views and general visitor information such as approximate location, device and browser. This only runs after you accept analytics cookies in the banner shown on your first visit; if you decline, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is sent.
On top of standard Google Analytics page views, we record specific events when analytics is active: on-site directory searches, clicks on fishery listings, phone numbers, email addresses and outbound website or Facebook links, and submissions of the suggest-a-fishery, claim-a-listing and recent-visit forms. This helps us understand which questions and listings anglers find useful.
There is no account or login system. We don't ask you to register, and we don't build visitor profiles beyond what Google Analytics collects.
Forms only collect what's needed to action your specific request, for example your name and email for a suggestion, or your name, email, phone and role for a fishery claim. Form details are used solely to follow up on that request.
Cookies: declining the analytics banner means no analytics cookies (such as _ga) are set. Accepting sets standard Google Analytics cookies for measurement purposes only. You can clear your choice at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
